In March of 1836, Texian delegates met at Washington-on-the-Brazos to discuss the state of the Mexican territory. The convention lasted for 17 days during which they declared Texas' independence from Mexico and adopted a constitution.
Within two months, General Sam Houston defeated the Mexican army at the battle of San Jacinto thereby solidifying Texas' status as its own republic.
Today, just a few miles from that very spot, Texian Brewing Co. strives to honor those individuals by brewing hand-crafted beers wrapped in Texas history.
"Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word" - John Steinbeck
